Do I enter tariff prices with or without VAT?

Without VAT. On the Tariffs page, every buy price and each of the three per-kWh charges — energy tax, grid fee, renewable levy — is entered net. The hub applies VAT % itself, on top of all of them.

Why it matters more than it sounds

Your supplier's price sheet usually shows the VAT-inclusive price on the front and the components in the small print. If you type the inclusive figure and fill in VAT %, every cost the hub records is too high by your VAT rate — and nothing warns you. You'd find out by comparing with a bill months later.

What the hub does with the numbers

cost = ( kWh × zone price + kWh × (energy tax + grid fee + renewable levy) ) × (1 + VAT / 100)

A measured example, from a hub running this plan: a night price of 0.18, charges totalling 0.08, VAT 20 %. The hub reports an all-in price of 0.312 €/kWh — ( 0.18 + 0.08 ) × 1.20. In the day zone, at 0.32, it reports 0.48.

The one exception: the setup wizard

The wizard's quick tariff step has a switch, Price as on the bill — incl. VAT. Leave it on if you're typing the price your bill shows, and the wizard does the conversion. That switch exists only in the wizard; the Tariffs page always wants net prices.

How to check you got it right

Compare the hub's all-in price for a zone against the per-kWh total on your bill. If the hub's figure is higher by roughly your VAT rate, you entered gross prices into the Tariffs page.
